About Paul
Paul Hamilton first came to Moldova in 1996 on a three-month survey trip to study the language and learn the culture. God used Psalm 34:18 to break his heart for the people and call him to start the work, and he found believers who had been praying for a preacher to be sent to their region.
That year he started the Bible Baptist Church in Slobozia, the first Bible-believing work in the war-torn region of Prednistrovia. In 1997, Paul and his wife, Susan, returned with their family to labor in Moldova full time. In 2001, he turned the Slobozia church over to national leaders; Pastor Constantin Stratulat leads it today, and Paul still helps with the weekly messages. That same year, God moved Brother Hamilton to the airport region of Chisinau, where the Bible Baptist Church of Chisinau was established, and in 2013 his vision led to a new church in the city of Balti.
Training national men has been central to the work. In 1998, Paul started the Bible Believers Baptist Institute of Moldova with nine men, a three-year course in Bible doctrine and rightly dividing the word of truth. The church's outreach has since grown to include village works across Prednistrovia, where Paul preaches in two villages; Purified Word Printing International, which has helped the church distribute over 4.5 million pieces of literature since 1997; the Anchor of Hope orphan and family ministry; and Eagle Missionary School, which gives new missionaries hands-on training on the field.
Paul and Susan have served the Lord in Moldova since 1997.
